Services to Seniors in Walanga, Manafwa District

We are thrilled to share with you some exciting updates and highlights from the past year at USSSU (Universal Senior Social Services Uganda). Thanks to your generous contributions and unwavering support, we have been able to make a meaningful impact in the lives of seniors in our community. Here are some of the key initiatives and events that took place:

Dinner Fundraising Event: Our initial and soon to become an annual dinner fundraising event was a tremendous success! It brought together members, supporters, and community partners for a memorable evening of camaraderie and fundraising. Through your generous contributions, we were able to raise funds to support our ongoing programs and services for seniors in need.

Medical Camp: In collaboration with local healthcare professionals, we organized a medical camp aimed at providing essential health services to seniors. This camp offered free health check-ups, screenings, and consultations, ensuring that seniors had access to vital medical care and advice.

Services offered at the medical camp

1. General medical consultation and diagnosis

2. Real-time referrals to the regional referral hospital

3. Nutrition counseling

4. Testing for non-communicable diseases

5. Testing for common tropical infectious diseases such as malaria, HIV, PSA

6. Screening for diabetes, hypertension and urinalysis

7. Counseling services to support and meet their physical, social, emotional, spiritual, and psychological needs
